Level 1
Logical
The data has become inaccessible with no apparent physical damage to the device. Within this level there are two situations of very different complexity.
The data has been deleted, lost or has become inaccessible, but the device is working. We recover the information without any intervention on the device.
On more recent devices, formatting or deleting data changes the internal operation of the device (translator). The diagnosis and the recovery require a specialised intervention at internal level, which is more complex and takes longer.
Our technicians carry out physical interventions on the device, including work on the electronics (PCB) and changes to the firmware or the internal programming. After this process, the device will no longer be operational, as the only goal is to recover the data.
Devices can have more problems, e.g. logical and physical, which may be detected during the diagnosis stage.

RAID
Data recovery on RAID systems involves rebuilding volumes that are damaged or inaccessible because of failures in the array. The complexity of the process depends on the number of drives in the array and their condition. In more serious cases, drives with mechanical faults may need internal parts replaced, such as head assemblies, or work on the electronics and the motor, before the recovery can go ahead.
Symptoms:
- The RAID volume becomes inaccessible, even if the individual drives are recognised as working.
- Error messages in the system, such as “Degraded”, “Failed”, or warnings about the integrity of the array.
- Loss of performance when accessing data or frequent failures during read and write operations.
- The RAID volume is completely missing from the operating system, preventing access to the files.
Recovery:
- Individual Analysis of the Drives:
Each drive in the array is analysed in detail to identify physical faults, such as mechanical faults (e.g. weak read/write heads, damaged heads, motor failures) or electronic faults.
We also check for logical faults, such as corruption of metadata or file systems. - Virtual Rebuild of the Array:
We virtually rebuild the RAID array using specialised tools and advanced technical knowledge.
This process ensures that the original structure of the data is preserved. - Data Recovery:
We use advanced techniques to extract the data from the working drives. Even when the RAID is degraded or has failed badly, the process is carried out so as to ensure the integrity of the recovered files.
Price: From €900 (depending on the number of drives and their condition).

How much does it cost to recover an SSD?
From 100 EUR + VAT for logical faults, 450 EUR when the memory is degraded, 900 EUR for firmware and 1,200 EUR for electronics. When the memory chips are damaged, the price is given after analysis.
How much does it cost to recover a USB stick or a memory card?
From 150 EUR + VAT for common chips (TSOP 48) and from 450 EUR + VAT for monolithic chips, such as most microSD cards. The diagnosis is done in 12 hours.
How much does it cost to recover a RAID or a NAS?
From 900 EUR + VAT, depending on the number of drives and the condition of each one. For SAN and CAS systems, from 1,400 EUR + VAT.
Do the prices include VAT?
No. Recovery prices exclude VAT, which is added at 23%: a 100 EUR + VAT service costs 123 EUR.
How much does the diagnosis cost?
The Technical Diagnosis costs 30 EUR + VAT (36.90 EUR) per device and is only charged if you decline the quote or the Advanced Diagnosis, or if the device is so damaged that no quote is possible; return shipping costs are separate. Devices that have been opened or tampered with, and all ransomware cases, need an Advanced Diagnosis, paid beforehand, from 123 to 369 EUR VAT included.
Does the timeframe change the price?
Yes. You can choose the 24-hour service, urgent (1 to 3 working days), priority (4 to 7 working days), standard (8 to 12 working days) or no urgency (15 to 30 days). The final quote shows the price for each timeframe, and no urgency is the cheapest.
What if I accept the quote and then there is no recovery?
You pay nothing for the recovery service or anything else; return shipping costs are separate. In some cases an initial amount is requested before work starts, always stated in the quote: it is deducted from the price if the recovery succeeds and, if it does not, it covers the attempt and is not refunded. If you accept and do not pay the initial amount within 5 working days, the device goes into storage, at a cost of 1 EUR + VAT per day, up to a maximum of 60 days. After that period, the device is recycled free of charge and the storage remains payable.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, in 2, 3 or 4 interest-free instalments. Payment is made at the end, before the data is delivered, by bank transfer, Multibanco or cash (up to 1,000 EUR) at the laboratory.
How to choose a data recovery laboratory
The 8 criteria you should check before sending a drive: a physical laboratory in Portugal, a cleanroom, a quote before you pay and certification.
